The INFN-CNAF Data Centre and the CINECA Data Centre cover an area of approximately 15,000 sqm of the Technopole, where the two infrastructures share technological, security and surveillance systems.
Inside one of Pier Luigi Nervi's halls called “Botti”, INFN will have one of the most powerful data centres in the scientific field (INFN Tier 1), used to process data produced by LHC - Large Hadron Collider of CERN of Geneva, as well as data managed by INFN for many types of experiments, mainly astro-particle physics and neutrino physics, with partnerships and collaborations with various Ministers. CNAF is the national center of INFN - Italian Institute for Nuclear Physics dedicated to Research and Development on Information and Communication Technologies.
