International Research Area

On the corner between Via Stalingrado and Via della Manifattura, a new facility built around a courtyard of 14,000 sqm will be home to international research activities, providing 250 workstations in a creative and stimulating environment covered with green areas. A project that will be certified under the international sustainable building standard LEED, (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), for its high standard of construction and indoor atmosphere. The building's facades, based on analysis of the composition of the original facades designed by Pier Luigi Nervi, are characterised by functionality, rationality and economy of materials and their “rhythm” represents a motif of continuity with the other structures of the Technopole.

Activities of the United Nations University (UNU) will be held in the building, focusing on the changes of human behaviour in the Mediterranean, and activities of the IFAB Foundation - International Foundation Big Data and Artificial Intelligence for Human Development, as well as other international collaborative projects on climatology issues.
